Joey is a Southern California native who first gained hands-on experience training in five-star hotel kitchens abroad before attending the Culinary Institute of America in New York. Returning home, he built an impressive resume in the back of house, working at Redbird and serving as Sous Chef at Bavel, ran his own private chef business, and later transitioned to the front of house to work across Walter and Margarita Manzke’s acclaimed concepts, including République, Bicyclette, and the Michelin-starred Manzke, ultimately working his way up to Assistant General Manager while earning a Sommelier certification from the Court of Master Sommeliers along the way.

Transitioning from restaurant operations to wholesale distribution, Joey joined the Rocker Bros. team to help bridge the gap between purveyor and operator. Working closely with chefs and culinary teams across Southern California, he brings his holistic restaurant experience to support practical kitchen needs, focusing on reliable service, precise product knowledge, and finding the right cuts to balance menu execution and food cost calculations.

He lives with his family in the South Bay, and in his free time enjoys playing golf and exploring the funkiest rums the world has to offer.
